Are you looking for ways to improve your relationships? Look no further than opera. While it may seem like a highbrow art form reserved for the wealthy and well-educated, opera has a hidden power to enhance relationships in multiple ways.

First, opera can help improve communication. The lyrics are usually in a foreign language, which forces listeners to pay closer attention to the emotions conveyed through the music and the performers' actions. This can help us improve our own communication skills by paying closer attention to nonverbal cues and the emotions behind our own words.

Second, opera can help reduce stress and improve overall well-being. The combination of music and drama provides a form of escapism, allowing us to temporarily forget our daily stresses and immerse ourselves in a different world. This can lead to a more positive outlook and better ability to handle the challenges of daily life.

Third, opera can strengthen relationships by providing a shared experience. Listening to an opera with a loved one creates a sense of togetherness and shared appreciation for the art form. This leads to deeper connections and a stronger bond.

In conclusion, opera has the potential to improve relationships in several ways. Its ability to improve communication, reduce stress, and provide a shared experience can help strengthen bonds and bring people closer together. So, the next time you're looking for a way to improve your relationships, consider giving opera a try. You might be surprised by the positive impact it can have.

Opera and Love: A Match Made in Heaven

For many of us, there are few experiences more transcendent than making love to someone we love or a night at the opera. These are full-body experiences that transport us to another world, leaving us feeling euphoric and deeply moved. But what is it about these experiences that make them so special?

According to some experts, it's the immediacy of these experiences that sets them apart. When we make love or listen to music, there is nothing that needs to come between us and the moment. The experience is direct and not dependent on language or interpretation. We simply listen and feel.

It is believed that orgasm happens in the right hemisphere of the brain, where there is a small explosion on impact. The surrender and wellbeing that surround us is in part a result of our over-active left-brain taking a rest. The right-brain is creativity and dreaminess. When we listen to music, our right-brain takes over, and it feels like another world because it is one.

Walter Pater, a famous art critic, once said that all art aspires towards the condition of music. He was not saying that some art forms are better than others, but rather that music is universal and immediate. It is the perfect medium to express the human experience.

So if you're looking to improve your sex life, consider a night at the opera. As the saying goes, music is the food of love, and there's nothing quite like a night at the opera to feed your soul and bring you closer to your loved one.

It may seem like an unlikely connection, but going to an opera could actually improve your sex life. Here's why:
  1. It's a romantic date night: There's something about the opulent surroundings, the beautiful music, and the drama of an opera that can be incredibly romantic. Imagine sipping champagne in a candlelit theater, surrounded by luxurious fabrics and ornate decorations. It's a far cry from the typical movie night or dinner out, and can reignite the spark in your relationship.
  2. It's a chance to dress up: Who doesn't love an excuse to get dressed up? Whether you go formal or opt for a stylish cocktail dress, dressing up for an opera can make you feel sexy and confident. And when you feel good about yourself, it can translate into the bedroom.
  3. It stimulates the senses: Operas are a feast for the senses - the music, the singing, the costumes, the sets. All of these elements come together to create a truly immersive experience. And when our senses are stimulated, it can increase desire and arousal.
  4. It's a form of escapism: Operas transport us to another world, whether it's a historic setting or a fantastical one. This can be a welcome escape from the stresses of everyday life, and can help you relax and let go. And when you're relaxed and in the moment, it can lead to better intimacy.
So if you're looking to spice things up in the bedroom, consider adding an opera outing to your date night repertoire. You may be surprised at how much it can enhance your love life.

Mystic Side Opera Company

Santon is an inspiration to many, and it is no surprise that he has been honored as the first Mystic Side Opera Artist of Note. The Artists of Note honor recognizes inspirational musicians and artists who embody raw passion, extraordinary perseverance, and who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of excellence towards mastering their art.

Santon's journey to becoming an award-winning musician is truly remarkable. Born blind and autistic, he faced many challenges from a young age. However, he showed a natural talent for music from a very young age and began piano lessons at 3.5 years old. He went on to attend Perkins School for the Blind, where he performed with some of the biggest names in music, including Orleans, Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, Peter Wolf, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, and Natalie Merchant.

Santon's passion and dedication to music led him to graduate from Berklee College of Music, summa cum laude. He plays multiple instruments in various genres and composes music, performing as a solo pianist, accompanying singers, and playing piano in the Boston Tango Orchestra. He has also been collaborating with a Kentucky-native writer and spoken word artist CD Collins, composing and playing music to her lyrics.

Santon's performances are not just limited to Boston, he has traveled to Colorado, Kentucky, New York, and several other states to play solo or with his music partners. He has also produced 2 albums, “Flavors of the Rainbow” – solo piano classical favorites, and “Night Animals” – CD Collins & Santon duet of spoken word with music.

Santon is not just a musician, he is a true lover of life. When he is not playing music, he is dancing the Argentine tango, doing acrobatics on a trapeze, windsurfing, riding a tandem bicycle with his dad, swimming, skiing, skating, traveling and fully enjoying life.

Santon's story is a reminder of the value and unlimited potential that every human possesses. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and dedication in the pursuit of excellence.

It is truly an honor to have such a talented and inspiring artist like Santon among the ranks of the Mystic Side Opera Artists of Note. He is a reminder that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and a love for what you do.
